Especially well done to our prize winners: Becky (Osprey), Adam (Osprey), Samuel (Eagle) in Key Stage 2 and Oliver (Hedgehog), Britney (Badger) and Amber (Badger) in KS1. All about Spain. Have you been paying attention!?

Since starting Spanish, lots of children in Key Stage 2 have been finding out where Spain is on a map. I think I might find some stickers for anyone who can tell me:
1. what are its neighbouring countries called?
2. which continent it is in, and
3. which other continent it is very close to?

Were you listening in class??!!!

European Day of Languages is here again...

Welcome to a new term and ¡Hola! to Spanish in Key Stage 2! Next week is European Day of Languages. Look out for a competition in school on Wednesday(after our Inset days) which will involve lots of staff members, and why don't you have a go at a quiz? Prizes to be won...

Good luck - ¡Suerte!

International School Award

We are really proud to have achieved the International School Award. I hope you saw the article and photo in the local paper last week! We have been enjoying lots of interesting activities which contributed to this award, like French Day, World Cup event, European Day of Languages, Black History Month, linking with schools in France and Uganda, and now we are linked with a school in Salamanca, Spain. We will soon be preparing our Christmas cards and film clips about school to send to some of them. Let's keep up all this good work!

Puppet conversations!

Here is a clip of a puppet conversation which Year 5 and 6 pupils were doing recently. What do you think of their dialogue? I was really pleased! Lovely French speaking skills - magnifique!!!

French Christmas songs

Here's a website with lots of Christmas songs, being sung in French by children. They live in Canada, in an area where French is spoken by many people as their main language. I love Petit Papa Noël, which is number 12 on the calendar ('le calendrier').
